Sbarro recently organized the Man V/S Pizza contest at its outlet in Connaught Place on 14th May, 2015. Held by pairing techies and pizza-lovers in teams, the fierce battle saw 8 teams of bloggers match wits and eating skills to consume maximum amount of pizza in 10 minutes flat.
Beyond the fresh ingredients, variety of toppings and charcoal-kissed thin crust, it’s the authentic flavour of New York style pizzas that remains the most remarkable thing about Sbarro.
Being an ardent pizza fan and a social media enthusiast, it was a pleasant surprise to be chosen as a participant of first of its kind Man V/S Pizza contest. I was elated to put my social media skills and love for food at test in this delightful competition.
There were 2 members in each team where one was the foodie and the other was the techie. The thrill factor of the game lay in the 10 minutes that were given to the gourmets to finish eating the pizza and emerge victorious in the competition.
While the foodies were grilled on their love for the sumptuous pizzas, the techies were tweeting about #SbarroManVSPizza and posting about the contest during the same time.
Within no time, the atmosphere was brimming with enthusiasm, excitement and fun! More than a competition, this event served as an interesting gastronomical adventure for both foodies and their partners!
The winners were presented with the grand ‘Sbarro Hamper’ that included goodies & participants were gifted brand merchandise. This one-of-its-kind event was an interesting initiative to bring together bloggers and influencers and make efficient use of social media to leverage the brand’s digital presence.
